The man behind Fortis

Fortis is not a concept.
Fortis is the result of a life in sport.

As a dedicated BMX rider, I was active for 26 years at the highest level I could reach myself. Those years taught me one fundamental truth: real growth never happens by accident. It is the result of structure, discipline, and the ability to do the right thing every day, even when no one is watching.

But even more importantly: you never grow alone.

That belief has shaped my life.
And later, also my way of coaching.

From elite sport to performance coaching

After my active sports career, I fully focused on performance coaching. By now, I have worked as a coach for more than 9 years, including nearly 3 years within TeamNL as part of the National Talent Development Program (LTP). There, I worked daily with talented athletes who had one thing in common: potential only flourishes in the right environment, with the right people and systems around you.

Education and talent development

Alongside my work in elite sport, I was active for 6 years as a teacher and elite sports coordinator within an MBO Sport & Exercise program. In that role, I guided (elite) sport students in combining sport, education, and lifestyle. It was exactly there that my vision became sharper: growth does not happen in separate training hours, but in how everything comes together. Person, environment, and guidance.

What I apply every day

Even today, I still actively coach elite athletes, both in the Netherlands and internationally. That daily practice keeps me sharp. Everything that happens at Fortis is directly translated from what works at the highest level. Not theory for the sake of theory, but systems that have proven themselves.

The foundation: theory and practice

My academic background forms the foundation under that practice. I studied at Fontys University of Applied Sciences (Bachelor of Education) and further specialized in Sport Performance Enhancement at HAN University of Applied Sciences. Theory and practice are never separate for me; they strengthen each other.

What I stand for

What drives me is growth.
The fast progress at the beginning is beautiful.
But the real satisfaction for me lies in those last percentages, the point where it gets difficult, where details make the difference, and where the right guidance is essential.

The Fortis approach

Elite sport has taught me that sustainable performance always comes from balance and cooperation. From that belief, the four learning lines of Fortis emerged: Strength & Conditioning, (Elite) sports lifestyle, Nutrition, and Recovery. Not separate services, but one integrated system in which specialists work together around one goal: your growth.

Fortis is built for people with ambition.
For athletes. For entrepreneurs. For people who understand that training is not a goal, but a means to function better. Physically and mentally, in sport and in life.

When you train here, you step into an environment where you are not on your own.
Where structure, guidance, and cooperation are central.
Where growth is made sustainable.

Winning is done together.
